Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal have teamed up for Celine Song’s upcoming film, Materialists. The film will be releasing globally on June 13. However, the release date in India might vary and the makers are yet to confirm the same. Nonetheless, the announcement of the film has left moviegoers excited due to the stellar cast.
Sony Pictures and A24 released the official poster of the rom-com and wrote, “Save the date. Celine Song’s MATERIALISTS 6.13.2025”
The announcement photo featured a heart-shaped cake with a huge chunk cut out from it. The name of the film was written in red on the white cake.

The film follows a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker who finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex. The official plot synopsis reads, “Set against the vibrant backdrop of New York City, a city that never sleeps and is known for its diverse and dynamic relationships, Materialists provides a unique glimpse into the lives of the city’s elite. Lucy’s expertise in matchmaking is highly sought after by those willing to pay a premium for her services.”
Dakota plays the role of Lucy, the matchmaker, while Chris Evans plays the role of John. Rest of the details about the characters are under wraps right now.
As per reports, principal photography began on April 29 last year in New York and it was wrapped up in June. Meanwhile, Celine Song’s directorial debut Past Lives was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. Talking about it, the director said, “I didn’t know I knew how to make a movie until I was doing it. And then once I was doing it, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to do this until I die.”
