Radhika Apte surprised fans with a rare family photo on International Women’s Day yesterday. The actress took to her social media handle to share an adorable family photo with her husband, British musician Benedict Taylor, and their three-month-old baby girl.
In the candid click, Radhika and Benedict can be seen enjoying a serene sunset. The actress looked lovingly at her daughter while Benedict, holding the baby in his arms, clicked the selfie. The newborn’s face remained hidden in the photo, but she can be seen wearing a cosy white beanie, matching with Radhika’s beanie. Meanwhile, Radhika wore a beige jacket. She simply captioned the post, “Happy Women’s Day to us all,” with a heart emoji.
Radhika Apte’s journey as a mother
Radhika and Benedict welcomed their daughter in December last year. A week after giving birth, the actress made a powerful statement about balancing work and motherhood by posting a picture of herself breastfeeding during a meeting. Her caption read, “First work meeting back after birth with our one-week-old at my breast. #breastfeeding #mothersatwork #itsagirl #girlsarethebest #abeautifulchapter #bliss @benedmusic.”
More recently, Radhika shared candid clicks from the BAFTAs where she was representing her movie Sister Midnight. She opened up about breast-pumping in the bathroom during the event and embracing the lifestyle of a new mother.
Radhika and Benedict met back in 2011 in London. After living together for some time, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in 2012, followed by an official celebration in 2013.
Radhika Apte’s latest and upcoming projects
Radhika is set to make her directorial debut with Kotya, a Hindi-Marathi action-fantasy film backed by filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane. The film follows a young migrant sugarcane cutter who gains superpowers after a forced medical procedure. She goes on to use them to free her family from debt. Radhika was last seen in Sister Midnight. The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to win a BAFTA for the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer category.
