Producer Boney Kapoor recently revealed that he is planning the sequel to Sridevi’s last film Mom and is all set to cast their daughter Khushi Kapoor in it. Praising Khushi, Kapoor said, “I have watched all of Khushi’s films. Archies, Loveyappa and Nadaaniyaan. I am planning a film with her too after No Entry. It would be a movie with Khushi. It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeeded in this same level of perfection.”
Mom was released in 2017. The crime-thriller directed by Ravi Udyawar saw Sridevi as a vigilante who avenges her stepdaughter after she gets sexually assaulted. The film also starred Nawauddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna, Sajal Aly and Adnan Siddiqui. Mom was her 300th and final film before her unfortunate demise in 2018.
Khushi Kapoor, on the other hand, was most recently seen in Nadaaniyan with Ibrahim Ali Khan, who made his debut with this film.
Giving the film 3 out of 5 stars, Filmfare said in its review, “Khushi Kapoor’s Pia may initially seem like a character crafted more for her glamour than any emotional depth, but she rises above the script in emotionally charged moments. Her chemistry with Ibrahim is effortlessly natural and thankfully the director hasn’t sexualised it.”
Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor also spoke about his upcoming film No Entry and said that it will go on floors sometime between July and August. “No Entry will go sometime in July-August. There are too many leading ladies, so I can’t just talk about a few now. We have locked a few now and have some more to go. After we finalise, there will be a formal announcement,” shared the producer.
