Prateik will be seen in a menacing avatar in Salman Khan’s Sikandar which is releasing this Eid. During a conversation with Filmfare, the actor opened up about his character and his experience of working with Khan. He said, “It was very exciting working with Mr. Salman Khan. We’ve all grown up watching him on screen and watched him grow up on screen as well. It was a very exciting time shooting and interacting with him. I can’t wait for the film to be released. I have a wicked part in the film. I’m one of the negative characters and I am playing Mr. Satyaraj Ji’s son. We belong to a political family and my character is the catalyst of the film and the story.”
For the uninitiated, while Salman was shooting for Sikandar, he was also going through a crisis in his personal life. The actor was constantly sent death threats allegedly by gangsters. It was also the same time his politician friend Baba Siddiqui was assassinated. My first few days of shooting were with Salman bhai. We had an action sequence and it was one hell of an experience.”
Prateik spoke about how Khan was on sets and said that he was going through a lot of things and would come in with heavy security. On being asked whether he was scary and intimidating on sets, Prateik shared, “No. But with everything going on in the recent past, things are very structured in his life. There’s no time to waste. He comes in with very high security and it’s quite an intense situation. But he’s not scary at all. He’s just got so much on his mind. He arrived at a certain time and always came with a lot of people and security. It was always cut to cut and pre-planned. He would come in and we’d shoot. And we continued after he left. We wish him well and we wish him peace, happiness and safety.”
Prateik concluded, “But it was an honour and privilege to be in the same room as him and to act on screen with him.”
While the official announcement of Sikandar’s release date is yet to happen, it will be hitting the theatres on Eid this year.
