Visionary filmmaker Shyam Benegal was laid to rest today at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park Electric Crematorium. His industry friends and colleagues paid their last respects to him before his funeral. Naseeruddin Shah was seen teary-eyed as he bid his old friend goodbye. His son Vivaan Shah bowed down before him with folded hands.
Boman Irani, Nandita Das, Ronnie Screwvala, Ashoke Pandit, Ila Arun, Ishita Arun, Divya Dutta and Kulbhushan Kharbanda too attended his funeral.
