Deb Mukherjee is a renowned filmmaker who passed away at the age of 83 on March 14, 2025. The actor was suffering from multiple age-related health issues. After the news of his tragic demise, several Bollywood celebrities paid a visit to Deb Mukherjee’s residence to offer their condolences. Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and many others met Deb Mukherjee’s family members.
Soon after Deb Mukherjee’s demise, a representative of the veteran actor issued a formal statement in the media in which he was lauded for organising Durga Puja. The statement can be read as “We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Mr Debu Mukherjee, an actor and driving force of the North Bombay Durga Puja. He left us this morning.” The veteran actor’s last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai’s Juhu.
