Moreover, some videos of Rakshit Chaurasia, the accused in the Vadodara car crash case, shouting on the streets without any ounce of guilt has fueled rage within the country. Amid this, recently, we got to know about how one of the victims who was left critically injured, is unaware that his wife, Hemali, has passed away in the incident. Their families are demanding strict punishment for Rakshit Chaurasia. Here’s what they said.
Critically injured victim, Purav’s family reveals he constantly asks for his wife, Hemali
Rakshit Chaurasia, a law student, drove his car under the influence of intoxicants on the night of March 13, 2025. He allegedly rammed his Volkswagen Virtus into multiple vehicles. Four among them have been left injured, and a woman, Hemali Patel, passed away on the spot. Her husband, Purav, sustained some serious injuries and was admitted to SSG Hospital, Vadodara. His nephew, Parth, recently sat down for an interview with The Indian Express and revealed that in a semi-conscious state, Purav has been constantly asking about his wife. He shared:
“We cannot tell him right now that she is no more… He is critical and on ventilator support. He cannot speak but is trying to communicate by scribbling with one hand on a paper. He wants to know where Hemali is, but we have not answered his question… What do we tell him?”
