A similar incident happened when a fan broke the law to meet Virat Kohli in the opening match of IPL 2025. The 18-year-old fan, named Rituparno Pakhira, revealed the seconds of interaction he had with his favourite Virat, who treated him with a lot of love.

Rituparno Pakhira climbed over the fence and ran towards Virat Kohli, leaving security officials at Eden Gardens baffled. However, to dodge the security he sprinted towards Virat Kohli, who was battling for Royal Challengers. However, Rituparno doesn’t regret his action as he claims being arrested for a day was worth meeting his ‘God’ (referring to Kohli). He said:
“I am very happy despite what happened. Virat is god to me and am happy that I could meet my god.”
