During Sonu Nigam’s concert at Delhi Technological University, reports initially claimed that stones and bottles were thrown on stage while he was performing. A video of him addressing the audience went viral, where he was heard saying, “Main aapke liye aaya hoon yahan pe so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to stop enjoying, but please don’t do this.” However, Sonu has now clarified that these reports were exaggerated and that no such incident took place.
Clearing the air, Sonu explained that only a vape was thrown by someone in the audience, which accidentally hit his team member Subhankar on the chest. “Nothing like hurling of stones or bottles as mentioned in some media happened at DTU. There was one Vape thrown by someone on stage that hit Subhankar’s chest and that’s when I was informed about it. I paused the show and requested and reminded the collegians that the show will have to be abruptly stopped if something like that happened again,” he shared. After that, the concert continued without any issues.
Later, things took a fun turn when someone from the crowd threw a pink bunny headband on stage. Instead of getting annoyed, Sonu took it in good spirits, wore the headband, and even started singing Kya Se Kya Ho Gaya while the audience cheered him on. The crowd began calling him “Pookie Pookie,” and Sonu found the moment amusing. Talking about it later, he said, “The only thing hurled on stage after that, was the Pookie band. Which was really Pookie.” He even shared a picture of himself wearing it, looking quite amused.
Fans absolutely loved this moment and showered Sonu with love. One user commented, “Thank you for the clarification of the pookie headband. It suits you very much and we look forward to seeing you wear it more often!” Singer Stebin Bin also chimed in, writing, “You’re the most loved singer Sonu sir You’re only and only going to get love.” What started as a tense situation ended on a light-heartedd and memorable note for everyone at the concert.
