Salman Khan’s latest release, Sikandar, has not met the expectations of fans and critics alike. Known for always supporting his colleagues and friends in the industry, Khan has often given shoutouts to several films such as Jaat, Sanam Teri Kasam during its re-release, as well as Jawan and Laapataa Ladies.
However, during a recent interview, it was pointed out to him that despite being supportive towards others, he rarely receives the same in return. The superstar’s candid response won the internet. Salman said, “Maybe they think that I don’t need their support. But everybody needs support, including me.”
Following that, the actor also took a moment to promote Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan, which was released just days before Sikandar. He also extended his best wishes for Sunny Deol’s Jaat.
Notably, Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt publicly promoted Sikandar in the recent past. Deol posted on social media for the film. Aamir Khan participated in a promotional video along with Salman and Sikandar’s director AR Murugadoss. Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, was asked about Sikandar during the trailer launch of his film Bhootnii. The Sanju actor expressed his brotherly love towards Salman and said that Sikandar would be a super hit.
Filmfare’s Review of Sikandar
Filmfare rated the film 2.5 and said in its review, “Ultimately, the film lacks a compelling narrative arc and offers a rather underwhelming experience. For all its flashy action and bombastic spectacle, Sikandar feels like a missed opportunity – a film where style far outweighs substance. If you’re after an intelligent thriller, prepare for disappointment. But if you came for Salman Khan’s swagger and his larger-than-life charisma, well, you’ll get exactly that.”
Besides Salman Khan, Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Anjini Dhawan, Prateik Smita Patil, Sathyaraj and Sharman Joshi among others.
