Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra’s upcoming film SSMB29 (tentatively titled) directed by Rajamouli has already created enough buzz. The action adventure has already completed two schedules of shooting in Hyderabad and Odisha respectively. While the craze for the film has been unprecedented, here’s another buzz that’s doing the rounds.
Ever since the film kicked off, SSMB29 has been a constant source of speculation. Apparently, many believed that the Africa-adventure would be made in two instalments. It was Rajamouli who reignited the franchise-based films in Tollywood – he not only restarted but also made-believe that the films found success. After the Baahubali series set a new record in Indian cinema, many felt that the director would recreate similar magic with SSMB29.
The latest reports from the unit emerged that Rajamouli isn’t keen on turning SSMB29 into a franchise. The taskmaster instead is looking to wrap up the film in a single one rather. While the guessing game continues fans have been waiting to hear an update from the filmmaker. Many are curious to know whether the film would be made in two parts, but according to sources, there could be a clarification from the SSMB29 team, interesting times.
Rajamouli is known for his no compromise attitude when it comes to content. Since his films are high on Vfx, the post-production works naturally take a lot of time. But for SSMB29, the director is keen to wrap up fast unlike his earlier films. Apparently, he has written the screenplay in such a way that he can complete SSMB29 in one go.
Recently, after completing the Odisha schedule, Rajamouli wrote a handwritten letter expressing gratitude to the people of Koraput for their warmth and hospitality. Also, in a heartfelt gesture, MLA Ramachandra Kadam (of Koraput) presented a handmade millet product to the director as a token of love and tradition, celebrating the rich heritage of the land.
