According to the latest reports, this film is marked as the last movie of Vijay as he is all set to retire from his 33-year-old acting career. Ahead of its release, the director, H. Vinoth, slammed Bollywood for not utilising the Aashram actor, Bobby Deol. Speaking to Ananda Vikatan, Jana Nayagan director, H. Vinoth criticised Bollywood for not utilising a talented actor like Bobby Deol. He called him ‘action-hero material’. The director mentioned that Bobby performed far better in the upcoming film, Jana Nayagan, than he expected. He was quoted as saying:
“I don’t know how Hindi cinema let go of Bobby Deol for so long, because he is pure action-hero material. When writing certain characters, we often wonder how they will come across on screen. In this role, he performed far better than I had ever imagined.”
