Kriti Sanon is stepping into 2026 on a high note as she is riding on the success of her 2025 release Tere Ishk Mein. She is now looking ahead to a major career milestone. This milestone is her 20th Hindi film, Cocktail 2. The actor made her Bollywood debut with Heropanti in 2014. She admitted she hadn’t even realised the significance of the moment until it was pointed out to her.
“Is it? I always miss out on such milestones,” Kriti laughed, adding that she prefers to stay focused on the work rather than numbers. Fresh off the appreciation and box-office success of Tere Ishk Mein, she opened up to Hindustan Times about the pressures of matching her last film. Kriti said she feels no pressure to replicate or surpass her last film’s performance. Emphasising the same, she went on to add, “No, I don’t take that pressure. Every film is so different, you cannot expect everything to pull the same kind of audience.”
While Tere Ishk Mein was a passionate love story that sparked conversations around toxic relationships, Cocktail 2 marks a complete tonal shift for the actor. Co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, the film is being positioned as a modern romantic comedy. This story will cater to a very different audience base. “Cocktail 2 has a very different audience from Tere Ishk Mein,” Kriti said, underlining why comparisons between films rarely make sense.
For the actor, the only constant is honesty towards her craft. “All you can do is work hard and give every film your best. Everything beyond that is not in our hands,” she noted, adding that multiple external factors influence a film’s box-office fate. Kriti also stressed that she doesn’t burden her filmmakers with expectations, choosing instead to enjoy the creative process.
As she marks nearly 12 years in Hindi cinema, Kriti Sanon appears grounded, reflective and optimistic. With Cocktail 2 set to be her 20th film, she is less focused on milestones and more excited about exploring new stories. This is a mindset that continues to shape her evolving journey in Bollywood.
