Toxic makers unveil Tara Sutariaâs first look as Rebecca ahead of 2026 release

The makers of Yash’s highly anticipated film Toxic – A Fairytale for Grown-Ups have revealed the first look of Tara Sutaria as Rebecca. This has further intensified anticipation for the film’s 2026 theatrical release. The unveiling continues the steady rollout of character posters, following earlier reveals of Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth and Nayanthara as Ganga.
Sutaria’s character poster presents Rebecca as a woman caught between fragility and resilience. The visual suggests an unravelled emotional state while hinting at an underlying strength and instinct for survival. This positions Rebecca as a layered presence within the film’s dark, stylised narrative.

Toxic marks a significant milestone in Sutaria’s career, being her first pan-India production. She made her Bollywood debut with Student of the Year 2 in 2019. Over the years, she has featured in action-driven films such as Marjaavaan, Heropanti 2 and Ek Villain Returns. Her most recent film was the survival thriller Apurva in 2023. This film was noted for showcasing her evolving dramatic range.
Leading the film is Yash, who rose to nationwide superstardom with the K.G.F franchise. His portrayal of Rocky Bhai in K.G.F: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 redefined box-office benchmarks. The second instalment ranked among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Prior to this success, Yash built a strong foundation in Kannada cinema with performances in films such as Googly and Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari. These roles showcase his range in the characters that he chooses to play.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is positioned as a landmark project for Kannada cinema. The film is being simultaneously conceptualised, written and shot in both Kannada and English. Dubbed versions are being planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and other languages. This will make it one of the most ambitious Indian productions to date.
The project boasts a formidable technical team, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni and production designer T.P. Abid. The action sequences are choreographed by Hollywood stunt director J.J. Perry, known for the John Wick franchise. Alongside him are National Award-winning action directors Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic – A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2026. The date strategically coincides with an extended festive weekend, encompassing Eid, Ugadi and Gudi Padwa. The film is positioning itself for a major box-office opening.
