
Anil Kapoor is one of the most beloved actors and producers in Bollywood. Having made his debut years back in 1979 with a small role in Umesh Mehra’s Hamare Tumhare, he did not have to look back as his acting career started to take off. His filmography includes dozens of memorable movies that have touched audiences’ hearts. One such film is the 2001 entertainer, Nayak: The Real Hero. Here, Anil Kapoor played the role of a Chief Minister who was initially just a righteous civilian of his country.
Now, reports suggest that Anil Kapoor, aside from filmmaker, Deepak Mukut has acquired the rights to the political cult classic. To add to the good news, Anil Kapoor will also act in the film’s sequel on top of producing it.
Anil Kapoor will jointly produce Nayak 2 with Deepak Mukut
Recently, reports surfaced online about Anil Kapoor having acquired the rights to his blockbuster movie, Nayak: The Real Hero. The news, which came a quarter of a century after the film was first released on September 1, 2001, had fans eagerly awaiting the renewal of the classic political actioner. For the unversed, Nayak’s copyright was previously only held by producer, Deepak Mukut. Putting fans’ minds at ease, he confirmed that the sequel, Nayak 2, is indeed in the works and will jointly be produced by him and Anil Kapoor. Additionally, he also stated that the viewers can expect to see Anil Kapoor act in the film besides producing it. When approached for a comment on whether the veteran actor bought the rights of Nayak from him, Deepak Mukut told Hindustan Times:
