Farah Khan recently took to social media to praise Suparn S Varma directed HAQ. She called it a “powerful watch” and praised Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam for their performances.
In her post, Farah applauded the performances and credited the actors for bringing authenticity and emotional weight to their characters. She noted, “#yamigautam get ready to receive every award! Outstanding performance…” She also commented, “@therealemraan ur best to date.”
Junglee Pictures’ HAQ has been gaining rave reviews from the audience ever since its release on November 7, 2025. Now the movie has also released on OTT, giving audiences a chance to watch it again without going to the theatres. Our reviewer gave the movie 4.5 stars. He commented, “Haq is a reminder that clarity, reason and moral courage can indeed be cinematic. Watch it for its sincerity, for its grace, for its argument but above all, watch it for the performances that give this battle a beating, breathing human heart. And watch it because it believes that the Indian woman, regardless of faith, deserves the Constitution as her shield, not the mercy of men.”
Opening up about casting Emraan Hashmi in the movie, Suparn Varma had exclusively told Filmfare, “Emraan was the first choice where I kind of believe in manifestation. So, I really thought he would be ideal for it because the kind of panache and charm is remarkable. We have seen through the years, the intensity that he brings in all the high-intensity dramas would be a very interesting way to make him understand Abbas’ character. And when I met him and told him the idea, he loved it.”
He had further added, “He had certain questions. I asked him to read the script as all my answers are in it. In four hours after the meeting, he read the script and called me. He had a few doubts. But I only asked him to trust me and he was onboard in no time.”
