Dileep was in the city for the shooting of the popular television serial, Panchagni, and had checked into a private hotel near Vanross Junction. However, when he failed to answer calls or step out of his room for two consecutive days, concerns arose surrounding his safety. On Sunday, December 29, 2024, curious hotel staff opened the actor’s room to find his lifeless body. Based on the strong odour emanating from the room, it was clear that the actor had been dead for several hours.
