Reacting to the win, Timothée said, “I would’ve been stunned, but I’ve been very grateful. My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up. Always be grateful for what you have. It’s allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past empty-handed, my head held high, grateful just to be here. I’d be lying if I didn’t say those moments didn’t make this moment that much sweeter. For my parents and my partner, I love you, thank you so much .”

About Marty Supreme

Directed by Josh Safdie, Marty Supreme is inspired by the real-life story of Marty Reisman, a 1950s New York table tennis hustler whose relentless pursuit of greatness turns obsession into a high-stakes journey of ambition, risk, and survival. The film is set against the gritty backdrop of downtown New York. It blends sport, crime and thriller elements.

Speaking about the film and his connection to the director, Timothée added, “To Josh Safdie, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, thank you for this role, thank you for believing in me. Thank you for this portrait of your mind, for your worldview. To Ronald Bronstein, who co-wrote this script with Josh. To the amazing cast, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler the Creator, Kevin O’Leary, Fran Drescher, Odessa A’zion, if you told me when I was 19 years old that I’d be thanking Mr Wonderful from Shark Tank.”
