Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has publicly spoken about his fractured relationship with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, saying he does not wish to reconcile with them at this point in his life. In a series of Instagram stories shared on Monday, Brooklyn addressed long-standing speculation around tensions within the Beckham family and offered his version of events.
In the statement, Brooklyn alleged that his parents have repeatedly attempted to interfere in his marriage to actor Nicola Peltz, whom he married in 2022. He claimed that narratives about their family have long been shaped by his parents in the media, and that he felt compelled to speak out for the first time.
Brooklyn pointed to several incidents that he believes deepened the rift. One involved his wedding, where he said Victoria Beckham decided at the last moment not to design Nicola’s bridal outfit, despite earlier discussions. Nicola eventually wore a Valentino haute couture gown, which was widely praised at the time. Brooklyn also claimed that his mother objected to seating arrangements at the wedding reception and accused her of interrupting what was meant to be his first dance with his wife.
He further alleged that his wife has faced consistent disrespect from his family, despite efforts to maintain unity. According to Brooklyn, attempts to reconnect privately, including travelling to London around his father’s birthday, were unsuccessful. He claimed that meetings were conditional or declined altogether, including requests that excluded Nicola.
Brooklyn also addressed speculation that Nicola controls him, strongly denying the claim. Instead, he said that distancing himself from his family has brought him a sense of peace and relief from anxiety he had lived with for years.
David and Victoria Beckham have not publicly responded to the statements. The post marks one of the clearest acknowledgements yet of the personal strain between Brooklyn and his parents, putting an end to years of rumours surrounding the Beckham family dynamic.
