Global rap icon Kanye West could be headed to India for the first time as a live performer, according to recent reports. If confirmed, the Grammy-winning artist’s visit would mark a landmark moment for India’s live music landscape. This could place the country firmly on the itinerary of one of the most influential figures in contemporary music.
While Kanye has travelled to India on earlier occasions, those visits were not linked to concerts. In 2009, he reportedly visited an ashram as part of a personal retreat, and in 2012, he was in Mumbai to promote his women’s fashion line. At the time, he was staying at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The upcoming tour, however, is expected to be his first appearance on an Indian stage.
As per a report by Pinkvilla, sources indicate that Kanye’s India concerts are being planned for April 2026 and could rank among the biggest international music events hosted in the country in recent years. Details regarding venues, host cities and ticket sales have not yet been officially announced, but the news has already generated significant excitement among fans.
Kanye West’s career spans multiple genres, including hip-hop, gospel and experimental music. With 24 Grammy Awards to his name, he remains one of the most decorated and influential artists of his generation. Tracks such as Gold Digger, Stronger, Good Life and Ultralight Beam are widely expected to be part of his live setlist.
The reported tour also aligns with India’s growing presence on the global live music circuit. In recent years, the country has hosted major international acts like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber, alongside large-scale festivals such as Lollapalooza India, signalling an expanding appetite for global music experiences.
