Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas has jetted back to Hyderabad for the resumption of shooting on SS Rajamouli’s ambitious epic Varanasi. “And she’s off..I’ll see you soon, Hyderabad,” PeeCee wrote. She has dropped her transit videos every time she participated in a new schedule of the SS Rajamouli directorial.
Priyanka Chopra’s third schedule
This is the third Varanasi schedule of the international actress. In February 2025, she joined the principal photography in Hyderabad shortly after the film’s launch. In November, she completed a major leg of filming in Hyderabad before returning to Los Angeles. Far from treating this as just another project, Priyanka has immersed herself in the role of Mandakini with a surgeon’s precision. From the moment she signed on, Priyanka’s prep regimen has been nothing short of clinical. She has even hired a renowned Telugu tutor to master the language’s nuances. So, instead of a ‘rote learning’ approach, the actress is taking a deep dive into the film’s cultural persona.
‘Varanasi, a global spectacle’
The actress, who will share screen space with Superstar Mahesh Babu in the multi-lingual release, is returning to Indian cinema after an eight-year hiatus. “I am so happy to be back, making this movie in my beloved India,” she recently stated. She has referred to the film as a global spectacle that honours the essence of Varanasi, the city. Her character, Mandakini, is depicted in promotional materials as a fierce figure in a traditional yellow saree; this blends the city’s ancient spirit with modern action. In other news, Priyanka Chopra Jonas will headline and speak at the 23rd edition of the India Conference at Harvard University. The conference is scheduled for February 14-15, 2026, on Harvard’s campus in the United States. The theme for 2026 is “The India We Imagine.”
