Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar passed away on January 28, 2026, in a tragic plane crash. 66-year-old Ajit Pawar was en route from Mumbai to Baramati to attend a meeting, and he was travelling in a Learjet 45 (Registration: VT-SSK) operated by VSR.
If the reports are to be believed, the chartered aircraft faced difficulties at the final approach, and Ajit Pawar, along with four others, lost their lives due to the crash that took place. Ajit Pawar’s demise caused a shockwave around, and Sharad Pawar recently penned an emotional post, asking people not to link it to politics. Another report recently suggested how Ajit Pawar’s mother, Asha Pawar could sense something was wrong.

As per a report by Dainik Bhaskar, Ajit Pawar’s farmhouse manager, Sampat Dhaigude revealed that the late deputy CM’s mom could sense something was off and she was insisting on watching her son on TV, and even asked if ‘Dada had an accident’. The other staff members, to prevent Asha Pawar from knowing about what happened, disconnected the TV and put her phone on flight mode, and told her nothing happened.
