Dharma Productions’ upcoming romantic drama Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya, has finally locked its theatrical release date. The much-awaited musical love story, directed by Vivek Soni, will arrive in cinemas on May 8, 2026, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Announcing the update on social media, Taran Adarsh wrote, “ANANYA PANDAY – LAKSHYA: DHARMA’S ‘CHAND MERA DIL’ RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED… Dharma Productions’ upcoming intense musical love story Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya, is set to hit cinemas on 8 May 2026.”
The film marks the first on-screen pairing of Ananya Panday and Lakshya, a fresh combination that has already sparked curiosity among fans. Backed by Karan Johar, Chand Mera Dil was earlier postponed, making the release announcement a major update for those eagerly waiting.

In November last year, the makers unveiled a series of posters introducing the film’s romantic world. The visuals showcased Ananya and Lakshya in intimate, dreamy settings. From quiet indoor moments to a moonlit seaside conversation, hinting at an intense and passionate love story. Sharing the posters, Karan Johar wrote, “We have two chands ready to bring an intense & passionate love story like no other!!! Pyaar mein thoda paagal hona hi padta hai.”
Being a musical romance, the film’s soundtrack is expected to play a crucial role. According to sources, Karan Johar is personally overseeing the album to ensure the music leaves a lasting impact.
Chand Mera Dil marks Lakshya’s return to the big screen after his 2023 action film Kill. He was last seen in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series The Ba*ds of Bollywood. Ananya Panday, meanwhile, began 2025 with Kesari Chapter 2 and followed it up with Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
With its soulful music, fresh pairing and a spring 2026 release, Chand Mera Dil is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated romantic films of the year.
