Veteran Nepali film actor Sunil Thapa, who was last seen in the series The Family Man, passed away suddenly on February 7, 2026, in Kathmandu. Thapa was a towering figure in the Nepali cinema and has appeared in over 300 films. He was recently seen in Raj and DK’s crime series, The Family Man 3. What led to Sunil Thapa’s sudden death
As per multiple reports, the reason behind Sunil Thapa’s death is reported to be a cardiac arrest. As per the chairperson at Norvic Hospital in Thapathali, Rajendra Bahadur Singh, Thapa was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state. An ECG was conducted at 7:44 am, which confirmed his death. The doctors suspect cardiac arrest as the reason for his death. Speaking about the same to the Post, he said:
“He was unconscious when he was brought in. An ECG was done immediately, which confirmed his death.”
