Ravi Kishan is on cloud nine after his movie, Laapataa Ladies and his series, Maamla Legal Hai received a lot of love from his fans. The actor recently, in an interview, revealed that he has come from an extremely poor home. He had no shame in opening up about his days of struggle and remembered staying in a mud home and had to share a plate of khichdi with 12 people. Ravi revealed that poverty has been ingrained in him to the extent that his middle-class habits do not allow him to order luxuriously at a restaurant. During his days of struggle, for 15 years he survived on tea and vada pav.

During a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra for his YouTube channel, Ravi revealed that he had to crawl out to get out of his extremely poor condition. His condition was so poor that even when he shifted to Mumbai he had to eat vada pav and tea for 15 years as he had not got a respectful income. Ravi remembered:
“I used to live in a hut made of mud. We had responsibilities, our farm land was mortgaged. I have seen excessive poverty. The kind where one khichdi is shared by 12 people, and that too, after watering it down. I have faced extreme humiliation. People get humiliated a couple of times, I have faced it thousands of times.”
