Siddhant Chaturvedi recently shared his opinion on the evolving nature of modern relationships, offering a refreshing perspective that challenges common stereotypes about the younger generation.
Speaking about the current dating culture, Siddhant firmly stood his ground, saying, “Gen Z isn’t confused in love. This isn’t a generational issue, it’s evolution.” Siddhant highlighted how the digital era has shifted the way romance is navigated. Mentioning that emotions are now expressed and understood in real time, often through the lens of a screen, Siddhant added, “Today we live in the age of social media, and that has changed the way love works.”
Siddhant also went on to compare today’s fast-paced digital love with the old-school charm of the past. Reflecting on earlier times, he pointed out that confusion in love is nothing new, it simply looked different back then. He shared, “In our time, confusion existed at a completely different level. There was no social media, so most of the time we simply didn’t know what the other person was feeling. Years would pass, and we’d still be unaware of their emotions.” Siddhant fondly recalled the simplicity of those days, saying, “We would stand outside school, waiting just to catch a glimpse, hoping for that one look. Did they notice us or not? If they walked away, would they turn back and look? These tiny moments meant everything to us.”
As he gears up for his upcoming romantic film Do Deewane Seher Mein, where he stars opposite Mrunal Thakur, Siddhant’s shared his insights on love during the social media phase. He observed how social media has become a silent participant in modern courtships. He shared, “Now, even love is heavily influenced by social media. People deliberately put up stories with songs they know the other person likes, then wait to see if they’ve viewed it or liked it.”
Siddhant also touched upon the complex vocabulary of the current dating scene. He said, “Today, there are so many terms in modern dating like ghosting, breadcrumbing, and more, that half the time we don’t even know what all of them mean.”
