Actor Ahaan Panday became an overnight sensation with his first film Saiyaara, which released on July 18, 2025, and went on to collect over Rs 500 crore at the box office. The film didn’t just perform well, it became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. With that kind of opening, Ahaan quickly became the industry’s newest star and a constant headline-maker.
The young actor comes from a known family. He is the son of Chikki Panday and Deanne Panday, and the cousin of actress Ananya Panday. While many expected him to make a mark, few predicted that his debut would create such a massive wave.
Earlier this year, veteran film journalist Komal Nahta claimed that Ahaan Panday’s success made several Bollywood actors uneasy. Without naming anyone, Komal Nahta revealed that four actors were reportedly insecure after Saiyaara’s box office run. He even mentioned that one 40 years old actor was so worried that he was losing sleep, constantly making calls to confirm whether the reported numbers were accurate. According to Komal Nahta, he slightly altered one minor detail in his article only to avoid embarrassing that individual.
Speaking in an interview, Komal Nahta shared that his intention was not to mock anyone but to highlight how competitive and insecure the industry can be. He recalled attending a party hosted by Bhushan Kumar, where one of Bhushan Kumar’s stars asked him about Saiyaara. When Komal Nahta confirmed that the film was a blockbuster, the actor reportedly got up and walked away.
He also revealed that nearly 20 directors and producers personally called him, expressing shock at how strongly the film had performed.
Meanwhile, Ahaan Panday is already moving ahead. He is set to collaborate with filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar for his second project. At an event, Ahaan shared that the upcoming film will be an action entertainer. He said he cannot reveal too much but confirmed that shooting will begin in a couple of months. He added that the project is led by three individuals under the age of 30 and promises something fresh that audiences haven’t seen in a long time.
The film will also star Sharvari in a leading role. Reports suggest Ahaan will undergo an intense 60-day preparation for the film. The release date, however, is yet to be announced.
From record-breaking numbers to industry buzz, Ahaan Panday’s journey has only just begun.
