Abhijeet Bhattacharya is one of the much-loved singers of Bollywood, who never skips a chance to win the hearts of his fans with his melodious tone and soulful songs. Time and again, Abhijeet has landed himself in controversy. And yet the same happened again, as he recently said that Mahatma Gandhi is the father of Pakistan and not of India, and he also gave an explanation about why he had said so.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya calls Mahatma Gandhi ‘the father of Pakistan’
Talking to Free Press Journal, Abhijeet Bhattacharya stated that RD Burman was bigger than Mahatma Gandhi, as although Bapu was the father of the nation, RD Burman was the father of the nation in the world of music. He further added that Mahatma Gandhi was the father of Pakistan and not of India. He backed his remark by saying that India already existed, but Pakistan later was mapped out, and it was Gandhiji who made that happen, thus, he is mistakenly called the father of India. Abhijeet can be quoted as saying:
“Music composer RD Burman was bigger than Mahatma Gandhi. Like Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation, RD Burman was the father of the nation in the world of music. Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation for Pakistan and not India. India already existed, Pakistan was carved out of India later. Gandhi has been mistakenly called the father of the nation for India. He was the one responsible for the existence of Pakistan.”
