Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has kept the public hooked for months now. Every new development draws national attention and stirs a new debate. The 84-year-old is the mother of Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie. Subsequently, her popularity ensured that the case remained under intense media scrutiny. Now, once again, some fresh findings and questions about whether the FBI could take over the investigation have added another layer of intrigue to the already complex investigation. Here’s what we know about it.
What is the new finding in the case?
One of the most important updates in Nancy Guthrie’s case has been the DNA evidence collected near Nancy Guthrie’s home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson, Arizona. According to reports cited by the New York Post and Hindustan Times, investigators recovered partial DNA from gloves found near her residence. But that DNA did not match any profiles in the FBI’s national CODIS database. Additionally, the authorities have also confirmed that the DNA did not belong to Nancy or any of her known family members.
