Huma Qureshi On The Massive Box Office Clash Between Ranveer Singhâs Dhurandhar 2 And Yashâs Toxic

The Indian film industry is bracing for one of its biggest theatrical face-offs as Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 and Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups are both scheduled to hit screens on March 19. While fans are divided over which film to pick, Huma Qureshi has shared her perspective on the upcoming competition.

Huma, who plays a key role in the Yash-starrer Toxic, recently spoke about the clash during an interview with Variety India. Rather than seeing the simultaneous release as a threat, she believes it is a positive sign for the film industry.

Huma said, “No matter what I say, I think whichever way I look at it, it is a win for the Indian film industry and it’s going to be great for the audiences.”  She further explained that the presence of two major films will likely draw more people to the theatres, adding, “It’s a win-win, the way I look at it and I think it’s going to be like just a fantastic time for movie-going audiences, and there is space for everyone to do well.”

However, not everyone in the industry shares Huma’s optimism. Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta previously expressed his concerns about the business impact of the clash. Recalling his own experience when his film Kaabil released alongside Raees, he mentioned that such overlaps can limit a film’s potential. He told Variety India that while he plans to watch both, the clash is unfortunate because the films might eat into each other’s business, especially since many audience members may not have the resources to watch two big films back-to-back.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a sequel to the 2025 hit Dhurandhar. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. On the other hand, Toxic marks Yash’s much-awaited return to the big screen after the KGF franchise. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.
