
Harvey Weinstein is an American former film producer and a registered sex offender. In 1979, Harvey and his brother, Bob Weinstein, co-founded the entertainment company, Miramax. The brothers produced several successful films under the banner, including Sex, Lies and Videotape, The Crying Game, Pulp Fiction, and Flirting with Disaster, among others. The producer was incarcerated and serving a 16-year sentence in California following a 2022 conviction. And now, he has given his first interview since he was sent to jail.
Harvey Weinstein is still being paid a pension by Disney
Harvey Weinstein sat for a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, during which he claimed he continues to receive a USD 60,000 pension check from Disney each year as he sits behind bars. The disgraced producer has complained about the pension being too little during his first sit-down at Rikers Island that he is worried about his finances as he waits for his third trial for alleged sexual assault. Harvey Weinstein revealed that after spending millions in legal fees, the thought of running out of money “keeps me up at night.” The former producer stated:
“I had property and other income, but it’s not limitless. Disney cut off my insurance. You know how much I made for that company?”
