The trial of Kouri Richins that happened on March 16, 2026 (ET) featured the jury discussing the evidence related to the case for almost three hours. The trial originally started last month on February 23, 2026 (ET), and around 40 witnesses were called by the prosecution. However, the defense opted not to bring any witnesses from their side. For the unversed, Kouri Richins was accused of poisoning her husband, Eric, by reportedly adding fentanyl to his cocktail. The verdict of the court stated that Kouri’s actions were aimed at getting financial benefits. Richins was found guilty of multiple charges, including aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, and falsifying insurance claims and forgery. Kouri is now expected to be sentenced to almost 25 years.
