When Sneha Ullal made her debut in the 2005 film Lucky: No Time for Love, the buzz around her was immense. However, most of that conversation wasn’t just about her acting, but her striking resemblance to Aishwarya Rai. Years later, she has opened up about her experiences during that time, her interactions with Salman Khan, and whether she ever met the woman she was constantly compared to.
In a recent conversation with AlphaNeon Studioz , Sneha clarified that while the media was obsessed with the lookalike narrative, she was never bothered by it. She saw the comparison to Aishwarya Rai as a massive compliment, mentioning that she personally admired Aishwarya’s grace and career. Sneha revealed that she did eventually meet Aishwarya at an event. Describing the meeting, she mentioned that Aishwarya was incredibly warm and professional. She recalled, “She met me with a lot of love and grace,” putting to rest any rumours of awkwardness between the two.
Apart from the comparisons, Sneha also shared insights into her time on the sets of Lucky. Being a newcomer and still a teenager at the time, she was thrust into a massive production filmed in Russia. She spoke about Salman Khan’s behaviour during the shoot. Contrary to some perceptions of him being intimidating, Sneha described him as extremely protective and professional.She mentioned that Salman treated her with a lot of respect and ensured she was comfortable, especially given her age and the scale of the project. She shared, “Salman was very disciplined on set,” adding that he guided her through the technicalities of filmmaking. She explained that he was never star-like or dismissive, but rather a supportive mentor who helped her go through her first experience with fame. Talking about her journey, Sneha remains grateful for the start she received. While she eventually moved toward South Indian cinema, her debut remains a special chapter for her.
