On the occasion of Eid, Babil Khan gave fans a glimpse into a deeply personal and heartwarming moment. The actor took to social media to share a special gift he received from Tabu.
Tabu and the late Irrfan Khan have starred in many films together, most notably the 2003 crime drama Maqbool and the 2006 movie The Namesake. The thoughtful Eid gift stands as a beautiful reminder of the friendship the two actors shared, which has trickled down to a familial bond between Tabu and the Khan family.
A source close to the actor shared, “For Babil, this wasn’t just a festive gift, it carried a lot of emotional weight. Tabu has been someone who shared a deep bond with Irrfan sir, and that warmth has always extended to Babil as well. Receiving something so personal from her on Eid made it incredibly special for him. It’s moments like these that keep those relationships and memories alive in the most meaningful way.”

In one of our exclusive conversations, Babil had remembered Irrfan Khan and the life lessons he had learnt from his father. “He was my best friend and yet he was my Baba,” Babil said, recalling how Irrfan never judged him or burdened him with expectations. Instead, their relationship was built on friendship, laughter and understanding. “We would communicate through our eyes and others wouldn’t even realise it,” he shared, adding that Irrfan had a rare sense of humour and a lightness that defined their time together.
