Trailer Unveiled For Heartwarming Drama Maa Ka Sum Starring Mona Singh And Mihir Ahuja

The trailer for the upcoming original series Maa Ka Sum has been released, offering a glimpse into a world where mathematics and human emotions collide. Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor and produced by Babita Ashiwal under the banner of Eunoia Films, this light-hearted drama is set to premiere on April 3. Written by Ravinder Randhawa and Sumrit Shahi, the series stars Mona Singh alongside Mihir Ahuja, Angira Dhar, and Ranveer Brar in lead roles. The story is based on Agastya (Mihir Ahuja), a 19-year-old math prodigy who believes that everything, including romance can be solved with the right formula. He kickstarts Project Mom, a mission to find the perfect partner for his single mother, Vinita (Mona Singh).

The trailer shows Agastya declaring, “Maths ho ya pyaar… ek hi equation hain,” as he teams up with a new math professor, Ira (played by Angira Dhar), to build an algorithm for the perfect match. However, as emotions begin to disrupt his calculated world, Agastya learns that love often involves variables no equation can solve. Director Nicholas Kharkongor shared that the series doesn’t fit into a typical mould. He explained, “It is not a typical relationship drama, nor is it a purely coming-of-age story. It is about relationships—seen through the eyes of a 19-year-old who believes any problem in life can be solved with logic and data.” He credited the cast for bringing the story to life, mentioning Mona’s effortless grace and Mihir’s intensity.

Mona Singh, who plays Vinita, felt an instant connection to the script. She said, “At its heart is a single mother-son relationship that is built on an easy friendship, deep trust, and a rather unusual lens on love.”  She added that the series strikes a beautiful balance between humour and emotion while feeling warm, honest, and deeply relatable. Mihir Ahuja also spoke about his character’s motivation, saying, “What I found most endearing about Agastya is that beneath all his confidence and brilliance, he is simply a son who deeply loves his mother and wants to see her happy.

Maa Ka Sum will be available in Hindi with subtitles in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The series will premiere on April 3 across India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
