Sonu Sood’s much-anticipated action film Fateh had a modest start at the domestic box office, earning ₹2.45 crore on its opening day. Despite its compelling narrative centred on cybercrime and justice, the film struggled to create a strong buzz. However, the first-day numbers exceeded early trade expectations, which had predicted a collection between ₹70 lakh and ₹1 crore.
The film, marking Sood’s return as a lead actor, was highly awaited, especially after his pandemic-era philanthropic efforts earned him widespread admiration. While the opening figures are not groundbreaking, industry experts believe Fateh could gain momentum over the weekend if word-of-mouth reviews turn positive.
However, the movie faces an uphill battle, particularly with stiff competition from Ram Charan’s Game Changer, which opened to a staggering ₹51 crore across India. With initial collections falling short of the ₹5 crore mark, experts suggest Fateh might struggle to surpass a lifetime earning of ₹40 crore.
