Salman Khan is all set to present a refreshing and deeply emotional perspective on war with his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.

According to a source close to the actor, the vision behind Maatrubhumi has always been rooted in emotional storytelling rather than high-octane war sequences. The source shared, “Salman has been crystal clear right from the early meetings that Maatrubhumi was never meant to be a conventional war film. For him, it’s about showcasing the human side of a soldier, the emotional duality of living two lives, one on the battlefield and one at home.”
The source further added, “That sensitivity and clarity of thought is what truly sets him apart. He isn’t just leading a film, he’s shaping its soul with purpose, ensuring that the story connects with the audiences on a deeply personal and emotional level.”
This approach marks a significant departure from typical war narratives. It emphasises on the inner conflicts and emotional struggles faced by soldiers. The makers are focusing on themes of love, sacrifice and identity. The narrative aims to strike a chord with audiences beyond just action and patriotism.
Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films, with Apoorva Lakhia at the helm as director. The film also stars Chitrangda Singh in a pivotal role.

The movie was previously named Battle of Galwan. However, director Apoorva Lakhia told HT City that changing the title to Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace helped understand the heart of the film. “At its heart, the film is about humanity, empathy, and the silent battles our soldiers fight,” he added.
