One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Dacoit: A Love Story, has hit theatres on April 10, 2026. The trailer, released on April 4, 2026, had already suggested that the Shaneil Dao directorial would feature a storyline centred on betrayal and revenge within a love story. The movie has a stellar cast, with Advi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap in lead roles.
It is worth noting that this film marks Advi Sesh’s first film after a long gap of four years. Prior to Dacoit, he was previously seen in a cameo role in Hit: The Third Case in 2025. The romance and the frame-up in Dacoit: A Love Story
The plot of Dacoit revolves around a fractured romance in Madanapalle. ‘Haridas,’ who people affectionately call ‘Hari,’ (Adivi Sesh), is seen deeply falling in love with ‘Saraswati,’ better known as ‘Juliet’ (Mrunal Thakur). However, it feels as though their relationship is doomed from the start since ‘Hari’ is a Dalit youngster, and their town has a rather rigid and violent caste dynamics in place. Since ‘Saraswati’ comes from an affluent and upper-caste family, they are against her and ‘Hari’s’ union.
