Mohanlalâs L 366 Titled Athimanoharam First Look Out

In a festive reveal timed perfectly with Vishu celebrations, the makers of L 366 officially unveiled the film’s title as Athimanoharam, catching fans off guard with a sharp 10 am announcement. The reveal instantly sparked excitement online, especially with the accompanying poster that offers a striking glimpse into the film’s world.

The first look features Mohanlal in a khaki police uniform, standing among a sea of Sabarimala pilgrims. The imagery is both grounded and evocative, hinting at a narrative deeply rooted in faith, community and conflict. Mohanlal plays TS Lovelajan, marking his return to a full-fledged cop role after a significant gap, a space where the actor has historically delivered some of his most memorable performances.

Reunion with Tharun Moorthy and a solid ensemble

Athimanoharam marks the second collaboration between Mohanlal and director Tharun Moorthy, following the success of Thudarum. Known for his nuanced storytelling and socially anchored narratives, Tharun appears to be once again crafting a character-centric film that blends realism with emotional depth.

The film is backed by Ashiq Usman under his production banner, with the screenplay penned by Ratheesh Ravi. Ravi’s previous credits include Pullikkaran Staraa, Ishq, Adi and Maharani, and his writing has often leaned into layered interpersonal dynamics and moral dilemmas, suggesting that Athimanoharam could follow a similar trajectory.

Joining Mohanlal is Meera Jasmine, who plays Naisy, the wife of Lovelajan. Their pairing adds emotional heft to the narrative, with Meera Jasmine’s return to prominent roles in recent years already generating considerable interest among audiences.

Behind the scenes, the film boasts a strong technical team. Cinematographer Shaji Kumar handles the visuals, while Jakes Bejoy composes the music. Editing is by Vivek Harshan, and sound design is helmed by Vishnu Govind. The crew also includes co-director Binu Pappu, art director Gokuldas, costume designer Mashar Hamza and makeup artist Ronex Xavier, ensuring a polished cinematic package.

A packed slate for Mohanlal

The announcement of Athimanoharam adds to an already busy and intriguing lineup for Mohanlal. The veteran actor is also set to star in L 367, directed by Vishnu Mohan, who previously helmed Meppadiyan. Another much-anticipated project is Khalifa, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and directed by Vysakh.

In addition, Mohanlal will reunite once again with Tharun Moorthy for another yet-untitled project backed by M Renjith. He is also part of Thudakkam, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, which marks the acting debut of his daughter Vismaya Mohanlal and is slated for an Onam release.

With Athimanoharam, Mohanlal seems to be leaning into roles that combine mass appeal with rooted storytelling. The early glimpse suggests a film that could explore the intersection of duty, belief and personal conflict, all set against the visually rich and culturally loaded backdrop of a Sabarimala pilgrimage.
