There has been a lot of chatter lately about Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups getting delayed and possibly missing its June 4 release date. But Tara Sutaria has now cleared the air, firmly shutting down all the speculation around a postponement.
Tara recently appeared in a vlog with filmmaker Farah Khan, where she spoke about her work and upcoming projects. During their conversation, she directly addressed the rumours and confirmed that the film is very much on track to release on June 4, 2026, putting an end to the ongoing buzz.
Backed by Yash and Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film was initially scheduled for March 19 but was later pushed to June 4 due to disruptions in the Middle East amid the Iran-Israel conflict. The film had earlier been set to clash with Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, but the shift helped avoid the box office face-off. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film features a strong cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth.

The film has also faced its share of controversy since its teaser release, with some viewers calling certain scenes “grossly obscene, sexually explicit.” While complaints were filed with the CBFC and objections were raised by the Women’s Commission and a Christian group, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce urged people not to judge the film based only on the teaser. Earlier, while sharing Tara’s first look, Geetu had written, “I’ve always felt a natural affection to safeguard Tara. Maybe it’s because she has a reserved spirit or perhaps it’s the protective shell she finds comfort in. And maybe it doesn’t need to be labeled.” She added, “She absorbed more than she articulated. She listened more than she disclosed. I often pondered if I should guide her more closely. Yet in her quietness, something profound was developing. When she finally embraced her role, what unfolded was nothing less than stunning, stemming from an inner awareness she had all along. She completely astonished me, in the most wonderful way. I am certain she will amaze everyone else as well. @tarasutaria I cherish you”.
