Akshay Kumar sat with his fans via an Instagram live chat, where he discussed his career at large including Bhooth Bangla’s release, Hera Pheri’s update and more. Akshay opened up to his fans about working with Priyadarshan and sharing screen space with Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav yet again for Bhooth Bangla, which will hit the theatres on April 17, 2026.
While speaking to his fans and social media users, Akshay also had to open up about his stalled project – Hera Pheri 3. He straight up addressed the questions revolving around the project and acknowledged fans’ curiosity. The actor shared a disheartening update, noting that there are no concrete updates about the film. Akshay said, “Hera Pheri mujhe laga hi tha ye question aane hi wala hai. Hera Pheri par abhi toh filhal kuch bhi nahi hai.” (Hera Pheri, I knew this question was coming. There’s nothing on Hera Pheri right now.)
While fans kept asking him to share more, Akshay only seemed to have that update. He couldn’t share more updates as the project seems to be at a standstill for now.
For those unaware, the controversies around the project began when Paresh Rawal walked out of it. While Akshay, Paresh and Suniel were announced in the beginning, Paresh’s exit had fans curious. However, Paresh made a return to the franchise a few days later.

While exiting, the actor had cited creative dissatisfaction and differences. Then Askhay Kumar’s production house Cape of Good Films had sent a legal notice to Rawal for exiting the film after having signed a contract already. After some time, the legal notice was withdrawn and Paresh returned to the franchise. Paresh had even confirmed that he would return with the film.
