The Angels confirmed his passing on Friday, April 17, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Teresa and their three children.
The Angels pay tribute to Garret Anderson after his death
After Garret Anderson’s death, the Los Angeles Angels honoured the former MLB player with a sweet message. In the statement, Angels owner, Arte Moreno wrote, “The Angels organisation is mourning the loss of one of our franchise’s most beloved icons.” He recalled how Garret was a cornerstone of their organisation throughout the 15 seasons that he played with them when he was alive. He wrote that Garret’s stoic presence in the outfield and their clubhouse elevated the Angels into an era of continued success. He added:
“Garret will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Angels fans for his professionalism, class, and loyalty throughout his career and beyond. His admiration and respect for the game was immeasurable. We extend our deepest condolences to Garret’s wife Teresa, daughters Brianne and Bailey, son Garret ‘Trey’ Anderson III, and his entire family.”
