The figure breaks down to around Rs 12.25 crore from Day 1 collections, with an additional Rs 3.50 crore coming from paid previews, taking the India net total to Rs 15.75 crore.
In terms of overall scale, Bhooth Bangla has also registered a wider opening, with overall estimates pegged at around Rs 21 crore. This places it among Akshay Kumar’s stronger post-pandemic openings and signals steady audience interest in the horror-comedy genre.
Occupancy trends suggest a gradual pickup through the day, with morning shows seeing a slower start but evening and night shows performing better. The film released across thousands of screens, giving it a wide reach and helping it secure a double-digit opening.
While the opening is solid, it falls slightly short of blockbuster territory, especially when compared to recent big-ticket releases dominating the box office. Still, given the genre and mixed critical response, the numbers indicate a stable start with potential for growth over the weekend.
A significant jump over Saturday and Sunday will be key in strengthening its position, particularly in urban centres where evening and night show occupancies tend to drive overall collections.
