Along with it, she penned a heart wrenching note, in which Melissa mentioned that Mara was her other half and with the tragic incident, a part of her has gone. She explained that it was very difficult to see the world with Mara; however, she is trying to accept it. In her words:
“You have lived to hard. It was always synonymous with determination, courage, a force that did not fit inside you. He never did anything by halves, and maybe that’s why he marked so much the lives of everyone who crossed his path. My other half… a piece of me is gone, and I’m going to have to learn to live without it. And it hurts in a way I can’t even explain. It’s a strange silence, an emptiness I knew existed before, as if the world had lost a bit of color.”
