Aditya Roy Kapur is serving back-to-back doses of nostalgia! Earlier, he was clicked with Ranbir Kapoor, instantly transporting fans back to Avi and Bunny’s friendship in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Today, the actor dipped further into the memory lane, revisiting Aashiqui 2, the film that made him a household name.
Marking 13 years since his debut film, he shared a throwback picture with his co-star Shraddha Kapoor. The photo captures the duo against a scenic backdrop, seemingly in the middle of a discussion with director Mohit Suri, his back turned to the camera. Director Mohit Suri, too, took to social media to celebrate the milestone, sharing behind-the-scenes stills and a heartfelt note.
He wrote, “Celebrating 13 years of Aashiqui 2 —Some films don’t just get made… they make you ..Every moment on set… every silence, every tear, every note of music…felt like something we were living, not just creating. Years have passed…but the echoes haven’t. There are too many people to thank — more than I’ll ever be able to name. But all of them live inside this film. All I feel today is gratitude…
for the love this film has received, and for the way it continues to find people… even now. Some love stories don’t end. They just keep playing… on a loop, somewhere in the heart. #aashiqui2 #13yearsofaashiqui2″
Released in 2013, the Mohit Suri directorial wasn’t just a box office success. It was a full-blown emotional and musical phenomenon. Aditya’s portrayal of Rahul Jaykar, a fading singer grappling with addiction, paired with Shraddha Kapoor’s Aarohi Keshav Shirke, an aspiring artist finding her voice, struck a deep chord with audiences.
