The novel was published back in 2018 and was considered to be a different work compared to other books by Colleen. The novel has been a recipient of two accolades, including the British Book Award for Pageturner and Lovelybooks Leserpreis for Romance.
A teaser of the upcoming psychological erotic thriller was released on April 28, 2026. The new glimpse has introduced the characters, and the scenes have hinted at the arrival of a dark-themed movie.
