The makers of Karuppu have released the film’s third single, Karuppa Kooda Va, continuing the steady rollout of its soundtrack ahead of release. Headlined by Suriya and directed by RJ Balaji, the film is slated to hit theatres on May 14.
Composed by Sai Abhyankkar, the track is sung by the composer along with VM Mahalingam. The lyrics, written by Pa Vijay, carry a celebratory tone that aligns with the film’s positioning as a mainstream entertainer.
Instead of a conventional song video built around narrative visuals, Karuppa Kooda Va is presented through footage from the film’s recent audio launch in Madurai. The video stitches together moments from the event, capturing the scale of the gathering, stage performances and interactions with the cast. The approach places emphasis on fan response and atmosphere, turning the launch itself into a promotional extension of the film’s music.
Expanding ensemble and technical crew
Alongside Suriya, Karuppu also features a broad supporting cast including Trisha, Indrans, Natty, Mansoor Ali Khan, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maya Ravi and Supreeth Reddy, among others.
The soundtrack features additional contributions from lyricists Vishnu Edavan and Arun Srinivasan, indicating a multi-writer approach to the album. On the technical side, cinematography is handled by GK Vishnu, with editing by R Kalaivanan. Production design is by Arun Venjaramoodu, while action choreography is overseen by Anbariv and Vikram Mor.
The film is produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabu under Dream Warrior Pictures, with Aravendaraj Baskaran serving as executive producer.
With multiple singles now released, Karuppu appears to be building its musical presence in phases. Karuppa Kooda Va, driven by its event-based visuals, keeps the spotlight on the film’s growing pre-release momentum as it moves closer to its theatrical debut.
