Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is quite popular for his rom-coms. After his patriotic role in Border 2, the actor is back to his romantic-comedy genre. His upcoming film, Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hain, features him in a double trouble love story, alongside Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur. Initially set to release on May 22, the film will now release on June 5, 2026, according to the latest updates.
To mark this announcement, the Bollywood actor recently took to his official Instagram account and shared the news. The Instagram caption read, “JUNE 5 TH 2026 in theatres. Thankful to @thenameisyash and @maddockfilms for helping us reset the calendar as our film hain jawani toh ishq hona hain will now release on its original date. The first film to release post ipl.”
The teaser of the film was recently released, opening with AI-generated toddlers talking about their parents, indicating a love triangle involving two heroines and one hero. Further, it is accompanied by a revamped version of Ishq Sona Hai, originally from David Dhawan’s 1999 film Biwi No. 1, now serving as the title and the title track for the film. This film also marks the reunion of Varun Dhawan with his father and director, David Dhawan.
Produced by Ramesh Taurani under the banner Tips Films and co-produced by Gaurav Bose of Maximilian Films, this film is an upcoming Indian romantic-comedy, which gives a light-hearted feel-good vibe and provides relief after the hard-hitting films nowadays.
