Themes of power, dominance, rebellion, and the “forces that shape the land” drive Power Peta, actor Sundeep Kishan’s most ambitious release in recent years. Written and directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the film’s first glimpse leans heavily into a rugged, rustic aesthetic, hinting at a throwback to old-school mass theatrics.
The film recently wrapped up its first shooting schedule. From the title itself and the protagonist’s name — Senapathy Ravi — it is evident that the makers are targeting audiences who enjoy heroic introductions, powerful monologues, emotionally charged confrontations, and stylised action sequences. Since politics appears to be intertwined with themes of love, honour, and loyalty, the narrative is also expected to explore intense rivalries and emotional conflicts.

An evolving actor
Power Peta comes at an important stage in Sundeep Kishan’s career, as the actor continues to gravitate towards tougher and more performance-driven roles. Early in his career, films like Maanagaram (2017) and Maayavan (2017) showcased his willingness to experiment with unconventional narratives.
Post-pandemic, the actor appeared to consciously shift towards fresher genres and stronger character arcs. A1 Express (2021) explored the sports-drama space, while his Kollywood outings Captain Miller (2024) and Raayan (2024) further strengthened his presence in intense, layered roles. In Raayan, he shared screen space with actors like Dhanush and SJ Suryah.
According to the makers, Sundeep Kishan’s character in Power Peta has been designed as a full-fledged mass role packed with elevation moments. “His character’s screen presence is explosive, matched by punchy dialogue delivery and raw attitude,” the team stated while unveiling the glimpse.

Powered by top-tier technicians
Power Peta also boasts a strong technical crew. Music composer Mani Sharma, fondly known as the ‘Melody Brahma’, remains celebrated for his iconic scores in films like Pokiri and Okkadu. Cinematographer Madhie, known for Saaho, is handling the visuals, while acclaimed editor Sreekar Prasad is overseeing the film’s narrative flow. Production designers Ramakrishna and Monika, known for their immersive world-building in films like Rangasthalam, are also part of the project. Meanwhile, sound designers Sachin Sudhakaran and Hariharan bring their expertise to the film’s soundscape.
