Ram Charan-starrer Peddi has commenced its international box-office journey on an exceptional note. Within just four hours of bookings opening in North America, the film reportedly crossed the $100K gross mark in pre-sales. The surge in ticket sales has been remarkably swift, with the multilingual release setting a new benchmark for one of the fastest pre-sales starts for an Indian film in the region.
Box-office trackers are closely monitoring the numbers, which are expected to rise further in the coming days as the promotional campaign intensifies. What makes the feat more significant is that the film has achieved this momentum even before the release of its theatrical trailer. The strong early response has placed both the production house and overseas distributor Prathyangira Cinemas in a favourable position.

Why pre-sales matter
Robust overseas pre-sales are considered a key indicator of a film’s commercial potential. Strong advance bookings help build exhibitor confidence and often ensure wider premium-screen allocations. Early traction also contributes significantly to organic word-of-mouth publicity ahead of release.
A surprise element under wraps?
Industry insiders suggest that the makers are still keeping a major narrative surprise under wraps. The hidden element is reportedly expected to be unveiled during the trailer launch later this month, although the exact date has not yet been finalised.

The powerhouse team behind Peddi
Directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi boasts a strong technical crew. The film’s soundtrack, composed by AR Rahman, is already making waves on music charts. The cast includes Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, Shivarajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. Production designer Avinash Kolla recently revealed that the team built 24 massive sets from scratch, with nearly 70 distinct setups created for the film.
